Curemonte, aka the “Village of Three”.
Curemonte is a beautiful Corrèze village in the heart of the Dordogne valley. It is nicknamedthe “Village of Three” because of its three castles dating from the 12th century, its three churches, Saint-Martin, Saint-Pierre and Saint-Maurice, and the three rivers that flow through it: the Loire, the Allier and the Rhône.
The village of Curemonte is full of charming streets to explore and a picturesque square in the center of the village not to be missed while you’re camping at Curemonte: the Place des Halles. With its beautiful monuments, its Musée des Arts et Traditions Populaires housed in an 18th-century building and its pretty Jardin de la Fontaine, it’s sure to charm all who visit. Among its châteaux is the Château des Milandes at the foot of the village, once owned by the famous French singer Josephine Baker. It is open to the public for tours and is well worth a visit!
Last but not least, our Curemonte campsite is the starting point for numerous walks and hikes in the Dordogne valley. You can also swim in the Dordogne river or take a family canoe trip.
