Castles and views
Castelnaud-la-Chapelle is well worth a visit. Two castles, one of which houses the Musée de la Guerre au Moyen-âge (Museum of War in the Middle Ages), make it famous.
An original and fantastic journey
Tchou tchou, embark on a memorable ride aboard the Martel steam train. Pulled by a real steam locomotive or a powerful diesel engine, you’ll discover the Dordogne Valley via the old railway line, cut right into the cliff at an altitude of over 80 meters.
With incredible scenery
Just 20 minutes from your campsite, you’ll find the Lacave caves (pictured here). Take an electric train into the heart of the mountain and admire the 12 fascinating rooms with their phantasmagorical natural settings. And don’t miss the famous prehistoric caves of Pech Merle and Lascaux!
Bucolic and romantic
Masterpieces of topiary art, these gardens overlooking the Dordogne Valley are a true marvel! Take a stroll and let your mind wander to the rhythm of the century-old, hand-trimmed boxwoods. One of the most visited gardens in the Dordogne, Marqueyssac offers 15 hectares of waking dreams.
To marvel at…
At the heart of the Causses du Quercy nature park lie three parks like no others. The animal park at Gramat (pictured here), the Rocher des Aigles, and the Forêt des Singes, both in Rocamadour. Bears, wolves, bison, eagles, macaques…: fun and discovery for all.
